Health is wealth. When our minds and bodies are performing at tip-top shape, we have the ability to tackle our responsibilities and continue to show up for those we hold most dear. When the community has access to the resources needed to keep residents happy and healthy, the city as a whole can stand to benefit. And here in the Capital City, convenient, world-class healthcare is now just around the corner.
On Wednesday, April 24th, community members, leaders, and supporters gathered together for the grand opening of the Medina Health Center, Trenton’s latest new resource for health and wellness. The open house was attended by a number of influential members of the community, including members of local and state leadership. The Open House was also attended by a number of Medina’s remarkable providers, each of whom bring a distinct portfolio of knowledge and specialties to Medina’s remarkable care offerings.
Mayor of Trenton, Reed Gusciora
Per Mayor of Trenton Reed Gusciora, “I can’t thank them [Medina Clinic] enough for opening up and spreading the love and working with all the other health providers in the area. As we are all working together, it is so important that our communities are taken care of and their health needs are met. Congratulations on this exciting adventure and know we will be working closely with you in spreading the love and health in the Capital City.”
Dr. Kemi Alli, Fractional Chief Executive and Medical Officer, noted “I believe we are all here right now because we are privileged. We are privileged because we are a group of administrators, executives, and leaders, and with those titles, comes privilege and all that it means. And I also believe that with privilege, there should be a sense of responsibility for those who do not have the privilege that we do and are less fortunate than us. And that is where Medina and I are very well aligned. This center is born out of a place of responsibility and obligation to help those that are less fortunate than us, less privileged than us.”
Mr. Sajid Syed, Chairman and Founder of Medina Health Center
In a touching statement, Mr. Sajid Syed, Chairman and Founder of Medina Health Center, shared “I am just the servant of God and the servant of this community. I am really blessed to have been given the opportunity to serve my community. I really have no other words other than what I said – I am just the glue that pulled all these providers together. And the real thanks goes to our providers, who are on the frontlines of providing these free services.”
Throughout the evening, guests had the opportunity to hear from a number of the Medina Health Clinic’s providers, each of whom shared a bit about their journey and why this work is so meaningful to their team. When asked about a word they would use to describe Medina, providers shared sentiments such as “community”, “accessible”, “enterprising”, “groundbreaking”, “inspiring”, and “meaningful”. All that and more, it is evident that from the bright and cheery office greeting patients to the thoughtful providers serving patients, the Medina Health Clinic is a true labor of love.
