Summer 2020 Intern

Haya Ali

I am currently a rising junior with a biology major on the pre med track at stony brook university! Ever since I was a kid I have always dreamed of becoming a doctor. When I was 6 years old my mother fell ill and suffered a stroke and from then on I have been exposed to the hospital life and have learnt about the true duties a doctor must fulfill. Helping people and learning how to establish personal connections with doctors and patients has always been more of a passion to me rather than just a job or a duty. One of the main reasons I wanted to start working with Medina clinic was to put myself out there and learn how to build those professional relationships as well as devote my free time to more productive and noble work. I am a huge fan of collaborating and working together with my team in order to build something greater and achieve my goals and aspirations. In my college, I was the senator of my resident hall association and that taught me how to manage my time and stay committed to the work that came with it. It also helped me develop more diligence when it comes to fulfilling my responsibilities as a working young adult. Aside from that, I have also shadowed many doctors in order to get more of a feel of what the life of a physician is like. Those experiences not only made me more passionate about medicine but they also have motivated me to stay on track and to give my best effort in achieving my dreams. I continue to look forward to working more with Medina Clinic, and becoming a part of a great team that strives to take care of people all over.
